This course will provide an introduction to anthropology and anthropological theories. Beginning with Malinowski and Durkheim, the course will progress chronologically, providing students with an understanding of how anthropology has developed as a discipline. As the course continues key questions will be raised concerning perception, subjectivity, ethics, colonialism and racism. The aim of the course is to both provide an introduction to the discipline and provide the students with a way to reassess the world they live in.
