Livestock farming faces many scientific challenges, as do its professionals.
The course will address key questions for the present and future of animal production. These topics will include animal welfare, genetic diversity, reproduction, health, pollution, feeding, and farm management.
In this course, we will raise questions about hot topics and discuss some of them:
What are the most imminent concerns? How can we determine which are the most important issues? Should we rely on technology? Should we go for the most productive breeds or the most efficient ones? Is it possible to reduce the pollution emitted? Should public regulations be stricter?
