solution d'apprentissage de l'IA "Learning Robots". La conférence sera
donnée en anglais.
Harnessing Generative AI for English Writing to Cultivate Self-Regulated Learning in Future-Ready Education: Let Ideas Fly
Nicole Yin YANG,
Department of Mathematics and Information Technology
The Education University of Hong Kong
Abstract:
Is
Artificial Intelligence (AI) disrupting or enhancing creativity and
self-regulated learning in education? As AI reshapes our global
landscape, the integration of AI literacy into educational curricula is
becoming essential for young learners to adapt to and thrive in an
AI-driven society. This presentation, grounded in the belief that it is
vital for educators to develop students’ independent thinking skills and
to promote a collaborative relationship with AI, explores these themes
deeply.
Creative thinking is acknowledged as a critical skill for
the 21st century, yet there remains a scarcity of research on leveraging
AI for process-oriented writing facilitated by visualized agents. In
this presentation, we will present two pivotal case studies: the first
highlights the design of MuseAIWrite in primary education, an
AI-supported platform designed to enhance English creative writing
abilities in senior primary school students. Through MuseAIWrite, we
explore the potential of AI to not only support but also inspire student
creativity in writing. The second case study explores the integration
of AI in advancing argumentative writing skills in higher education.
These examples illustrate how AI transcends its role as a mere tool,
becoming a partner in the creative journey. This partnership not only
fosters a renaissance of thought and expression within educational
settings but also challenges and expands the traditional boundaries of
educational practices. Through these case studies, we delve into AI’s
potential to inspire a new era of creativity and self-regulated learning
from a distinctly humanistic perspective.
