Hey everyone,
As I said to the last group, I'm giving you a general feedback of today's presentations (As it's general, not all of you are concerned).
1/ Introductions
It's the first thing we see and hear from you. The first few seconds need to have an impact. It gives the tone for the rest of the presentation. Make sure you work on that.
2/ Think outside the box
There are 9 groups presenting the same problematic. After a while it's easy to get bored when everyone tells the same things. Think outside the box, find new and original ideas and most of all, even if you ave the same ideas, go deeper! Show that you know your subject and that you're here to defend it and convince me!
3/ Technical details
- Doing your presentation without notes is getting better but several students are still reading them. For next week, there's no reading. It'll be better for me and you. I know English isn't mastered by everyone but work on your subjects and trust yourself.
- Don't stand in front of the board! I can't see what's written on it.
- Splitting up the presentation among you and adding everything the day before or in the morning, isn't the best solution. There are no transitions and often you repeat yourselves. And of course, I can tell!
Don't forget to arrive on time as we'll start on straight away to have time to have all the presentations done with a Q&A session each time.
Last advice, if you want to succeed, is to have fun! I'm not judging your ideas. I'm judging how you defend them!
Have a nice afternoon! See you next week
Thibaut
