    • Le mémoire de recherche est le rendu d'une recherche originale effectuée par l’étudiant sur le sujet de son choix. Divers sujets se stage seront proposés par l’équipe pédagogique du master.

      Le sujet de recherche aura un ancrage disciplinaire clair, en relation avec les compétences acquises et mises en œuvre au cours des divers modules du M2. Le stage sera dirigé par un chercheur ou un enseignant-chercheur.

      En tant que projet original mené par l'étudiant, le travail et son rendu se décomposeront nécessairement en

      - une présentation de la problématique scientifique d'intérêt,

      - une étude bibliographique présentant l'état de l'art international actuel vis-à-vis de cette problématique, avec une analyse exposant les verrous scientifiques et les défis persistants,

      - le développement de travaux de recherche originaux à caractère expérimental, et/ou numérique et/ou théorique,

      - une analyse des résultats obtenus et leur discussion vis-à-vis des résultats existant dans la littérature,

      - une conclusion argumentée sur les apports et les limites de l'approche scientifique originale mise en œuvre.

    Guidelines - checklist for writing the scientific report

    • Here are proposed some guidelines concerning the redaction of the report about the research project:

      The report about the project should be written in such a manner that a clear and concise overview of the topic is given to the reader. In detail, a state of the art of the topic should be given. Then, from that evaluation, the need for development shall be exposed, and the specific experimental/numerical/theoretical strategy proposed in the project shall be clarified. The method is (usually) exemplified for a simple structure. The results are analysed and commented.

      State-of-the art

      It should include several references (in the order of 10 international references (Q1 journal papers) at least) from the literature and recent works, if they exist.

      Need for investigation

      The goal of the study should be clearly stated in terms of experimental/numerical/theoretical interest, and with respect to the previous state of the art.

      Experimental/Numerical/Theoretical development

      The original approach of interest is detailed:

      • All the hypotheses are clearly given if required.

      • Most relevant equations are given, and all the symbols used are defined.

      Numerical example

      • The strategy is investigated on a simple structure, which has to be clearly introduced in terms of geometry, boundary conditions, material model, and conditions of the study (stationary, mesh size,. . . ).

      • All the assumptions are justified with respect to the problem of interest.

      • Basic equations used to solve the problem should be clarified and understood.

      Numerical results

      • The results that are shown should be chosen for their interest in terms of the understanding of the method (performance, limits,...).

      • Numerical results should be illustrated using the quantities of interest, which are the most interesting in the context of that study.

      • Different examples may be investigated with a clear goal.

      Figures

      • Every figure should have a caption. Labels and/or titles should indicate the quantities of interest.

      • Every figure should have a number, be cited at least once in the text, and be commented on.

      • In case the figure has not been done by yourself, the reference should be given.

      • Any quantity that has a physical dimension should be given with the corresponding unit.

      • The same should be done for the tables.

      Plagiarism

      • It is not allowed to copy the exact sentences and/or content from another reference.

      Plagiarism will lead to the rejection of the work.

    Dépôt Rapport

    Consignes pour le rapport de stage :

    • Corps principal (i.e. de l'introduction aux conclusions, sans compter la page de garde, la table des matières et la liste des références bibliographiques) de 25 pages maximum (le document peut être complété par quelques annexes mais sans avoir un document trop grand non plus : l'esprit de synthèse est un point important de l'évaluation)
    • Suivre les trames proposées (LaTeX ou Word), mais dépôt du rapport au format PDF.
    • Langue de rédaction anglaise ou française
    • Le rapport de stage est à déposer au plus tard le mercredi 31 juillet 2025 à 23h59 sur eCampus.


    Il est rappelé que tout rendu pédagogique est attendu sans expression d’opinions politiques ou religieuses (y compris dans la section Remerciements). 


    Pour la soutenance, le support de présentation et la soutenance orale peuvent se faire en français ou en anglais. La soutenance aura lieu en présentiel à l'ENS aux heures indiquées par ailleurs. Un temps de 20 minutes sera dédié à la présentation des travaux effectués, et 10 minutes aux réponses aux questions du jury. Le planning sera transmis prochainement.
