Professeur : Clemens ZOBEL
This course provides a basic understanding of geopolitics, the analysis of the interaction between geographical contexts and political processes. It will involve discussing fundamental theoretical approaches and concepts, grasping the significant transformations geopolitics has undergone from the European expansion in the 15th century until the current rebirth of nationalism, and applying this knowledge to select regional case studies. By studying book and article extracts, maps, documentaries, lectures and podcasts, students will enhance their capacity to find information and rephrase it concisely in oral and written form, as well as improve their rhetorical skills during debates and individual presentations. Classes will also provide an opportunity to revisit essential grammar issues.
